When researching the Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz, there was not one thing that didn’t interest me. Clip: The Garden Kingdom is one of the first and largest English parks in Germany... It was created in the late 18th century... End Clip. [i] The Garden Kingdom Clip: was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in November 2000. End Clip[ii] The specific part of the garden that caught my attention was the Stein Island located on the eastern part of the garden. The Garden Kingdom is built on the only artificial volcano in Germany. Clip: After more than twenty years of closure the island was re-opened to the public in September 2005. End Clip [iii] Clip: The Garden Kingdom lies in the meadow landscape of the rivers Elbe and Mulde, the floodplains of which reach in places to the parklands. The core of the Garden Kingdom is the historic gardens, with their buildings and sculpture. End Clip [iiii]
